For the past few months, they have been performing in Paris and have met with great success… but in Ramatuelle, they have really shone! This Thursday evening, Sarah Biasini and Emmanuelle Galabru were on stage at one of the most prestigious festivals of the year to present their adaptation of Unexpected visitor, based on a novel by Agatha Christie. Particularly applauded, they were then congratulated behind the scenes by the VIPs present in the audience.
Jacqueline Franjou, the sparkling president of the Festival, notably came to compliment them, as did Michel Boujenah, artistic director. Abd Al Malik and director Radu Mihaileanu were also present, as was another “son of”, Romain Sardou, artistic director of Les Plumes de Ramatuelle, who was accompanied by his partner Kym.
A beautiful event which will have made it possible to highlight the too rare smile in the media of Sarah Biasini: for several years, the daughter of Romy Schneider no longer turns to the cinema, preferring the stages of the theater, more discreet but sometimes more authentic. This has notably appeared in numerous plays by William Shakespeare and Georges Feydeau.
In January 2021, she had also published her first book, The Beauty of Heaven, a novel evoking the mother-daughter relationship, a very sensitive subject for her. Indeed, if the young woman became a mother in February 2018 of a little Anna, she herself lost her mother, the great actress Romy Schneider, at only 4 and a half years old, a drama that she evokes little but that she questions in this book.
Asked by a journalist, she had in particular told the difficulty for her to separate the wife of the actress so appreciated by the French. “I juggle the memory that the public has of her and my unique interest in the mother“, she had told. “Before, I was only looking for the mother. However, it was very difficult to find the mother in the films“.
Fortunately, she has always been able to count on her family and loved ones to tell her about the woman they knew. “They insisted on the fact that they saw her happy and going to seek very simple pleasures such as Sunday lunches, good food, family reunions, birthdays, Christmas, vacations shared with one another and others.“
A heavy heritage that she shares with her partner: Emmanuelle Galabru, 46, is the daughter of another great actor, Michel Galabru, who died in 2016. From the same generation, the two women did not know each other: “We had met at a party, quickly“, had told Emmanuelle Galabru in Telematin. “And I said to myself: ‘her, I’m going to like her’!“In this beautiful room, An unexpected visitorthey both gave the reply to the other talented actors: Cédric Colas, Pablo Cherrey-Iturralde, Françoise Pavy, Antoine Courtray and Robert Plagnol.
