Sarah Connor has re-recorded the Christmas classic “The Christmas Song”. The song and an accompanying documentary are only available from Amazon.
“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire”: Since Nat King Cole sang it for the first time in 1946, “The Christmas Song” has been one of the most famous American Christmas carols. Sarah Connor (41) has now re-recorded it for Amazon Music.
Connor’s jazzed-up version of the classic appears exclusively on Amazon Music, the streaming service of the online retail giant. There it runs as part of the playlist “Christmas Hit” with other newly interpreted songs for the holidays.
The video and making-of documentary will be out soon
The music video for Sarah Connor’s version of “The Christmas Song” will be released one day after the song on Amazon, on November 13, 2021. The Delmenhorstin was accompanied by cameras during the shooting of the clip in the 60s style. The mini-documentary of the same name will be released on November 26th on the Amazon Music App and on the YouTube channel of Amazon Music
Sarah Connor joins the star squad
Sarah Connor, who is currently on the jury for “The Voice”, on the challenge of recording one of the Christmas songs par excellence: “There are classics that can’t be made better, only differently. You can interpret them and that’s me not born in this time. But I love, love, love this music and it is in my blood. I hope that I have managed to reinterpret my favorite Christmas song ‘The Christmas Song’ in my own way and to produce a fresh version , but of course always with deep respect for the original “.
The singer joins a top-class group of stars who have already recorded the “Christmas Songs”, for example Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Celine Dion (53) or, most recently, Ariana Grande (28).
