She wants to get fit quickly after the operation
Sarah Engels is suffering from increased pain after her operation. Nevertheless, she hopes to be fit again quickly.

In an Instagram story on Friday evening, Sarah Engels also explained to her 1.8 million followers how the skiing accident happened. She simply had an unfortunate fall; the thawed snow was very “soapy”. She immediately noticed that something was broken. “Immediately after the accident, the pain was quite bearable for me – it was more of an extreme feeling of instability,” she revealed in a question and answer session. In fact, her cruciate ligament was torn “completely in the middle,” which is why surgery was unavoidable. “Now I have more pain, which will hopefully go away quickly.”
The singer actually has a number of appointments in her calendar. That’s why she wants to get fit again quickly. She “very much hopes” that she can be there at the start of the tour in Hanover and “get back on her feet by then.” She was “also really looking forward to the next few weeks and projects.” First, however, the singer has to wear a leg brace and walk on crutches, as she also showed in her story. “The first steps hurt – both in the knee and in the heart.” In such a situation, you only realize “how grateful you can be when you are completely healthy.”
“It will be a long and mentally exhausting journey”
Husband Julian Engels also speaks out on Instagram. He not only shares photos from the hospital, but also writes: “Road to recovery starts now!! It will be a long and mentally exhausting journey! Another new challenge but also one with which you will grow and where I know exactly that you will face this! There will be days that you will curse but we will bring you back step by step! All of this will only make you stronger! You are such a mentally strong person and you have the ambition for it anyway, that’s why I’m doing it I don’t have to worry about that! Even though I’m incredibly sorry for you, sometimes life has its own plans, what matters is what we make of them [sic].”
At some point she wants to hit the slopes again
Despite these adversities, she hasn’t given up skiing completely: “I think I’ll face this fear at some point. Because this accident could have happened to me with any other sport or even simply with a stupid fall.” But she’s not thinking about getting back on skis yet. “Now I want to do everything I can to get back on my feet.”
