Just a few weeks ago it was announced that Sarah Ferguson was suffering from breast cancer. The Duchess of York underwent a mastectomy in early July. Now she has been spotted for the first time since her procedure.

With the Sarah Ferguson, 63, also made her mastectomy public after her cancer diagnosis became known. The Duchess of York settled a few weeks ago King Edward VII’s Hospital and then recovered with her loved ones. Her ex-husband should also be one of them Prince Andrew, 63, with whom Fergie lives at the Royal Lodge. And it is Andrew with whom the Duchess of York has been spotted for the first time since her surgery.

Sarah Ferguson: The first photos after her mastectomy! Outing with Prince Andrew

On the pictures, available to the “Daily Mail”., Fergie and Andrew are seen in the car. While the prince is behind the wheel of the Range Rover, his ex-wife prefers the passenger seat. As the British website reports, the two drove through Windsor together. Where they were going is not clear.

In the photos, Sarah Ferguson wears a light blue blouse and a dark blue cardigan. The Duchess appears to be makeup-free and has her hair tied up with a patterned headband. Prince Andrew is just as relaxed: Queen Elizabeth’s son, † 96, wears a light blue shirt and a dark jacket over it.

A mastectomy is the removal of one or both breasts. The mammary glands are removed to treat malignant tumors. The procedure was with Sarah Ferguson “successful,” her rep said on June 25. After speaking with a surgeon who specializes in breast reconstruction, Fergie was positive. She is convinced that “we can do it”.

Cancer diagnosis: Fergie has found a new appreciation for her life

It was Sarah’s sister Jane Ferguson, 65, prompting the Duchess of York to conduct a preventive inquiry. “I live in the Windsor area and it was very hot and I didn’t feel like going to London,” Fergie recalled of the day her sister probably spared her worse. Because it was she who insisted that Sarah be examined. “And she was right. Thank you Jane,” the Duchess said on her podcast Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah.

Fergie took her cancer diagnosis “as a gift to make real changes for myself and take care of myself.” Despite the shock news, she looks positively into the future: “I’ll be super fit and super strong” – the Duchess is sure of that.
