Her Girls Aloud band mates mourn Sarah Harding, who died of breast cancer at the age of 39, with emotional words.

After the death of the British singer Sarah Harding (1981-2021) on Sunday at the age of only 39, her Girls Aloud band colleagues mourn her publicly. Nicola Roberts (35) and Nadine Coyle (36), who were in the band with Harding from 2002 to 2013, shared their grief on social media and posted souvenir photos of the star.

Homage to the “Electric girl”

Nicola Roberts writes on Instagram: “I am absolutely devastated and can not accept that this day has come. My heart aches and everything goes through my head all day, what we have experienced together.” Especially the last year since Harding’s diagnosis, difficult as it was, was strong in her heart. “A part of me or of us is no longer there, and that is unimaginable, painful and extremely cruel,” continued Roberts.

“Electric girl, you shaped us. You gave everything and always with a smile”, she addresses the deceased and adds: “A white butterfly flew past my window this morning before I found out about it have been you “.

Nadine Coyle was shorter but no less emotional: “I’m absolutely devastated! I can’t think of any words that could express what I feel for this girl and what she means to me! I know that so many of you will feel the same way. At the moment I am sending you so much love !!! ” Post on her Instagram account.

Sarah Harding’s mother confirmed the death

Sarah Harding died of complications from breast cancer. Her mother Marie has it on the British singer’s Instagram profile explained. “It is with great regret that I share the news today that my beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed away,” she wrote in a contribution to a black and white picture by Hardings.

The singer, who became known through the girl group Girls Aloud, fell asleep peacefully on the morning of September 5th. From the time she was diagnosed until her last day, however, she “fought hard”. Her mother would like to thank everyone who has supported her daughter over the past year. For Harding this meant the world – and she could draw a lot of strength and comfort from the fact that she was loved.

The singer made public in August 2020 that she had breast cancer. At that time, she explains on Instagramthat she was undergoing chemotherapy and fighting “as hard” as she could.
