The British singer Sarah Harding is dead. In the summer of 2020, she had made a breast cancer diagnosis public.

Sarah Harding (1981-2021) died of complications from breast cancer at the age of 39. Her mother Marie has it on the British singer’s Instagram profile explained. “It is with great regret that I share the news today that my beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed away,” she wrote in a contribution to a black and white picture by Hardings.

The singer, who became known through the girl group Girls Aloud, fell asleep peacefully on the morning of September 5th. From the time she was diagnosed until her last day, however, she “fought hard”. Her mother would like to thank everyone who has supported her daughter over the past year. For Harding this meant the world – and she could draw a lot of strength and comfort from the fact that she was loved.

“She was a bright shining star”

Harding’s mother knew that the deceased would not have wanted to be remembered for her fight against this “terrible disease”: “She was a brightly shining star and I hope that she can be remembered that way instead.”

The singer made public in August 2020 that she had breast cancer. At that time, she explains on Instagramthat she was undergoing chemotherapy and fighting “as hard” as she could.
