SAS: passenger traffic up 23% in June

(CercleFinance.com) – The Scandinavian airline SAS reported on Friday a 23% increase in passenger traffic for the month of June, confirming the good health of the travel and tourism sector.

The carrier says it welcomed 2.4 million people on board its planes last month, a record level since the end of the pandemic.

The company’s load factor, one of the sector’s profitability measures, increased by 0.1 point to 80.5% for capacity up by 17%.

The group says it has suffered “heavily” from the shortage of air traffic controllers at Copenhagen airport, its main hub, while July is its busiest month of the year.

Around 2:00 p.m., the SAS title took 0.8% while the sector index advanced by 1%.
