– Vallourec announces the appointment of Sascha Bibert as Group Chief Financial Officer. He takes office on April 19, 2022 and joins the Executive Committee.

Sascha Bibert was previously Chief Financial Officer of the Uniper group, one of the largest listed European electricity producers, whose activities in renewable energies and hydrogen are growing rapidly.

He will succeed Olivier Mallet, who is leaving the company after more than 10 years as Chief Financial Officer, member of the Management Board and then Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Olivier will have carried out many structuring projects for the Group in often difficult times and recently led the successful financial restructuring of Vallourec in 2021.

Biography of

Sascha Bibert

From 2019 to 2021, Sascha Bibert held the position of Chief Financial Officer of Uniper. Together with the management team, he provided the company with a new strategy focused on accelerating the energy transition, while capitalizing on the opportunities offered by the current market cycle. Sascha has particularly developed internal and external reporting, thus ensuring that the execution of the strategy, including the allocation of capital, is well aligned with the information provided to the main stakeholders.

Previously, he worked as Chief Financial Officer of EnerjiSA in Turkey for 5 years, supporting the strong growth of the company in a very volatile environment, then listing the company on the stock exchange following its split into two entities.

From 2009 to 2014, Sascha held various management positions within the E.ON group, notably as SVP in charge of group accounting and management control and head of investor relations. In parallel, he also served on the board of directors of Energy from Waste, a company managed by the private equity group EQT.

He began his career as an equity portfolio manager and buy-side analyst, working for 5 years for Allianz Global Investors, then for 3 years as Head of Investor Relations and Rating Agencies at Munich Re. .

Aged 46, Sascha is a graduate of the International School of Management and holds the titles of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CCrA (Certified Credit Analyst).
