“Sause” at DHDL: Is there a deal on April 12, 2021?

“Sause – The Soap Shower” from “Die Höhle der Löwen” helps in the fight against the gigantic high consumption of plastic waste. How does she do it and whether she convinces us? GALA has taken a closer look at the soap tablets for you.

There are enough soap dispensers, there are around 480 million plastic alone in Germany that are used each year. All of these are always waiting to be refilled with soap. It is practical that drugstores and supermarkets have refill bags for precisely these dispensers. The catch: They are made of plastic and cause enormous mountains of rubbish. But is there an environmentally friendly alternative for all consumers who are reluctant to use a bar of solid soap and still want to do something good for the environment?

“Sause”: that’s behind the product

The founders, Moritz Simsch and Sebastian Jung, not only want to ensure clean hands with their business idea, but also a clean conscience and a clean world. Their mission is: “Together. Simply. Cleaner.”
Sause – the soap shower“is vegan, cruelty-free and plastic free. The soap is packaged in sustainable and reusable cardboard. You save a lot of CO2 emissions when transporting the product, because the” Sause “weighs just 44 grams and is therefore significantly lighter than conventional liquid soap .

We grew up together on the North Sea and stood on the dike with our parents 25 years ago to fight with fairy lights to raise the protective wall. We have been dealing with climate change since we were children and we hope that our efforts will make a difference for our environment.

“Sause” at “Die Höhle der Löwen”

With their love for the environment, Moritz Simsch and Sebastian Jung have launched an environmentally friendly alternative that makes the world a bit better and can thus prevent huge mountains of rubbish. Judith Williams from “Die Höhle der Löwen” was won over by the founder’s idea and won over as an investor. Together they want to change something and are therefore now declaring war on plastic waste.

I only invest in products that offer people real added value. With its business idea, “Sause” is helping to reduce plastic waste. The tablet is dissolved in a beautiful and reusable glass soap dispenser with water. This saves weight during transport and also reduces CO2 emissions. A great, sustainable product that smells wonderfully in various natural notes.

That is what “Sause – The Soap Shower” promises

  • Wash your hands cleanly and foamy
  • a clear conscience
  • a clean world
  • environmentally friendly alternative to liquid soap
  • easy and quick creation of the sustainable soap spray
  • four different natural notes: Lavender lemongrass, Peony, Green tea and Orange tangerine as well as once without smell
  • easy cleaning of the soap dispenser

This is how the soap spray works

  1. Pour 100 milliliters of warm water into your foam soap dispenser.
  2. Put in an effervescent tablet of your choice.
  3. Wait for about 30 minutes with the lid open for your private foam party.
  4. Screw up the pump head – done!

“Sause” in the test

An environmentally friendly alternative to conventional liquid soap that does not contain plastic, is vegan, uses less CO2 emissions and also cares for your hands and smells good at the same time – all of this sounds like a dream to me, GALA editor Mareike. Sustainability is my top priority in my household. Looking for a sustainable soap far away from a bar solid soap I have been for a long time. Can me “Sause – the soap shower“from” Die Höhle der Löwen “inspire? Does it keep what it promises? I have tested the shower for you.

The first impression

When I unpack the package, my eyes shine. The reason: In the box there are two other small boxes that are beautifully printed with seagulls and contain important information about the product and provide information about waste of rubbish. In one is the brown glass pump dispenser, in the other the five different soap tablets – nothing to see of plastic. And unfortunately that is still a rarity, even if a lot is fundamentally changing in terms of sustainability.

A cardboard packaging contains ten tablets that are enough for 1000 milliliters of soap. There are four different fragrances, all of which smell very pleasant – and a variant without a fragrance. Due to the variety of these, the founders definitely offer exactly the right thing for everyone.

During the application

The instructions to get from the soap tablet to sustainable soap are super simple and self-explanatory. I fill the glass pump dispenser with a little water, put a soap effervescent tablet in it and then the “sause” is ready after 30 minutes. I can conveniently read the specified amount of water per tablet on the glass pump dispenser, as there are extra markings for 100 milliliters and 200 milliliters. After the specified time, I am curious to see whether the tablet has really completely dissolved and whether it foams on the hand, as the founders promise.

So after waiting 30 minutes I wash my hands and operate my new soap pump dispenser – and indeed, the eco-friendly soap does what it says on the tin. I have a little foam party between my hands. Lathering my hands feels very good. The scent of the soap evaporates a little, so that it is only minimally on my hands. I also have the feeling that the “Sause” takes good care of my skin, because it feels noticeably soft and tender. Previously existing dry spots are blown away. The next day the foam effect is even greater.

“Sause”: My conclusion

I can proudly say that I have finally found an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional liquid soap for my household. I am totally enthusiastic about the product, starting with the packaging, the different scents of the soap tablets and the noble glass pump dispenser. In my opinion, the price is also justified for a sustainable product and by no means too expensive. Another plus point: The ten tablets add up to 1000 milliliters of soap, so it takes a while until they are used up. Small, nice side effect: The space in the closet and in the shopping bag as well as lugging around the refill pack of the liquid soap are eliminated.

Affecting the environment in a positive way can be so easy!
