Save money and energy: your television uses less electricity that easily

Use eco mode

Depending on how you have configured the settings of your television, a television uses different amounts of energy. For example, increasing the brightness also increases power consumption. A convenient solution is the “Eco mode”, which many TV sets now offer. It adjusts the picture to use as little energy as possible without detracting too much from the viewing experience. For example, modern televisions independently recognize the prevailing lighting conditions in the room and automatically adjust the brightness in Eco mode.

Use “Auto Standby” function

If you are one of those people who regularly fall asleep in front of the television, then you should use the so-called “auto standby” function, which is now standard in many TV sets. As a result, the device switched itself off after a certain period of time without entering a command and therefore did not run for hours at night.

Don’t leave the TV on at the same time

It doesn’t matter whether you’re cooking, cleaning or eating: the television is often on at the same time and for many people it is considered a substitute for the radio. In fact, running it in the background can cost a few euros in the long run. It is therefore better to switch off the TV when you are not actively watching TV or streaming on your tablet or mobile phone. Some TVs also offer the option to turn off the screen and only play audio; you can also save electricity when you listen to music on the TV.
