Scam in the Apple App Store: Over 80 iPhone apps want your money

When it comes to protection against malware and Trojans, you are usually in good hands with Apple. Because the manufacturer pays close attention to which applications are sold in the in-house AppStore. Nevertheless, security experts are now warning of 84 apps that are out for your money.

The applications are so-called fleece goods. The apps do not contain any malicious code or any similar threat, rather they work with excessive charges that are not immediately apparent. VPNcheck already warned of the threat in March 2021. However, only 49 of 133 dangerous apps were removed, so that 84 applications can still steal money from you.

According to the experts at VPNcheck, the apps bring in around 100 million dollars a year. The affected programs were downloaded a total of 7.2 million times. It is a variety of software. Everything from games to PDF readers is included. You can find a complete list of all apps at VPNcheck. If you have one of these applications on your iPhone or iPad, delete them immediately.
