The two unknown perpetrators, who were traveling in a blue station wagon, stopped their first victim at around 5.45 p.m. on Rosentalstrasse (B 85) in Ferlach, in the Klagenfurt district. They pretended to a 58-year-old man from the Klagenfurt district that he had no money for petrol to drive to Berlin. They asked the man to exchange 1500 Romanian lei for 250 euros (current exchange rate 1500 lei = around 300 euros).
