Scandi Waves – the soft waves score with a stunning natural look and a good portion of volume. You can find out how to style the loose waves here.
What are Scandi waves?
- Scandi Waves are loose waves in the hair that are styled with a specific technique using a straightening iron.
- Medium or long hair is required.
- With the Scandi Waves you can create the perfect mix of casual hairstyle and gentle volume – almost like after a day at the sea! The waves are perfect for going out as well as for the daily look!
This is how you style the Scandi Waves
First of all: The Scandi Waves don't have to be accurate! It is precisely their imperfection that defines the hairstyle.
You need:
- Comb
- Heat protection
- hair clip
- Straighteners
- If necessary, curling iron with a large diameter
This is how the hairstyle works:
- Comb your hair and part it in the middle. Apply heat protectant to dry hair.
- To be able to work your way up from strand to strand, it is best to put the top hair to one side.
- Take a lower strand, comb it through again and curl the strand into a small curve by pushing it up a little. Keep tapping the curve with the straightening iron. Repeat the process a few centimeters below: Lay the shaft and close the straightening iron over it at short intervals. This creates gentle S waves. Continue until you get to the end of the strand.
- Now repeat the technique on the rest of your hair. You can use strands of different thicknesses. Run your fingers roughly through your hair – this will give you a casual undone look.
- If you want, you can also spray some salt water spray into the hair and then gently knead the hair.
- A little hairspray fixes the hairstyle at the end.
Tip 1: Thinner strands lead to curly hair, while thicker strands lead to softer waves.
Tip 2: You can also use a curling iron with a larger diameter for individual strands, this gives individual waves an even stronger expression!
Scandi waves are just one way to create a casual look! Here you can also find out how to style beach waves overnight, what makes a choppy bob and how you can get curls without heat and thus without a straightener and curling iron.
