As reported The Parisian, more and more college and high school students boast in recent days of having a “scar” on their face, like a pirate. The practice of this challenge, which worries parents, is simple: it consists of strongly pinching your cheek by applying a twist to create a bruise. Called Scarthis game is increasingly relayed on the platform most used by people under 25.
“I did this last week. At first it hurts a little and it swells. Then the pain passes, thankfully. I still kept the mark for four days. I told my parents that I hit myself. Otherwise, I would have been yelled at, ”confides to our colleagues Selma, a fourth-grade student in a Parisian college where Scar does not fail to speak.
Conversely, some young people prefer to stay away from this new fashion to preserve themselves. “My skin is fine like that. Anyway, on TikTok, there are plenty of modes that appear and disappear just as quickly, ”recognizes Raphaël, another fourth-grade student.
A trace that can become indelible
Especially since Scar can cause irreversible physical damage by causing dysfunctions of the blood microcirculation. “If you want to mark your cheek temporarily, the danger for these young people is to get a spider angioma that persists, therefore to keep aesthetic sequelae”, note to the Parisian dermatologist Marie Jourdan.
