Did you know ?

Black Widow is the 24th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe initiated in 2008 with Iron Man, and the first of Phase IV (initiated on the small screen with WandaVision). It will be followed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder.

With Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson embodies Natasha Romanoff for the eighth time (not counting her cameo in Captain Marvel during the post-credits scene) after Iron Man 2, Avengers, Captain America, the Winter Soldier, Avengers: The Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Australian Cate Shortland was chosen after a long selection process to become the director of the film. She triumphed over the seventy candidates met by the producers, and in particular Amma Asante (Belle), Maggie Betts (Novitiate), Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry) and Mélanie Laurent, who were among the finalists.

If the face of the young actress who plays Natasha Romanoff is perhaps vaguely familiar to you, it is because she is not a total stranger. It is indeed Ever Anderson, daughter of actress Milla Jovovich and director Paul WS Anderson.

Black Widow had the best post-pandemic start to a movie released with $80 million in US box office receipts for its first weekend (which is more than Fast & Furious 9 and its $70 million) .
