Which halloween makeup to choose?
The first question to ask is that of the theme. As you saw in our photo album, some characters are on the rise. We can notably mention the zombie, the joker, the clown, the skeleton but also the catrina, a female skeleton from Mexican popular culture. More classic, the witch and the vampire still have followers. Whether you are an expert in makeup or not, it is quite possible to achieve a spooky halloween make-up very easily … without spending the day there. Clown makeup: dare the great diversion!
The clown is a much scarier and more scary figure than it looks. Forget the jovial red-nosed clown, and instead think of Joachin Phoenix in the movie Joker or Pennywise, character from the novel It by Stephen King. You have it ? For a scary Halloween make-up and a successful clown transformation, start by covering your entire face with white oily eyeshadow. The mouth should be very red (or black!) And don't hesitate to pull the line upwards to create a huge and scary smile. If you feel up to it, you can also widen the smile and draw false teeth for an even more carnivorous smile. On the eyes, work on a slightly droopy eyelid and surround the eye with a thick layer of black makeup. For the disguise, you can bet on a simple large black suit or go straight by opting for a colorful suit. When you see your new face, your friends may be scared of their lives!
Zombie make-up: makeup that is REALLY scary
Zombie makeup is one of the easiest to perform and does not require any special makeup skills. While a clown or skeleton make-up takes a real helping hand, it only takes a few minutes to transform into a zombie. For the complexion, use a foundation at least two tones lighter than your skin tone. You can then draw fake veins in your neck with a simple faded lip liner. For a real undead look, choose purple or green to create a halo all around the eyes. The lips should remain bare, do not hesitate to cover them with a large brush of a very light pink or slightly bluish loose powder. And to be even more scary, the ideal is to have a few scars here and there. If you're short on time, you can easily find larger-than-life scar stickers on the internet. Otherwise, you will need some latex and special glue, which you will then cover with fake blood. There you will be a real zombie worthy of horror movie special effects!
Vampire make-up: your canines!
Are you struggling to find inspiration and no idea of a costume you like? What if you became a vampire for the evening? This makeup is very easy to perform and requires very few accessories and products. You will need: fake canines, some fake blood, red lipstick, white loose powder for the complexion. You then apply very deep black makeup to the eyes, and voila! We also love the idea of turning husband and partner into a vampire for an evening of madness and horror with the family.
