Already partially unveiled, the new BYD Seal is now showing through new photos. It could be launched in Europe next year.
You don’t know BYD yet? This is completely normal. But remember this name, which you are likely to hear quite a bit over the next few years. Because if the Chinese brand, which already markets many models, is currently only present in Asia, it should soon be exported to our countries.
A major development for the firm, which we owe to the arrival of several electric models within its range, then quite able to attract European customers and meet our very strict standards. After the Dolphin, a zero-emission compact unveiled last year, BYD is about to unveil another model, which will be sold here.
An attractive style
This is the BYD Seal, an electric sedan which obviously aims to compete head-on with the Tesla Model 3, which currently remains the best-selling connected model in Europe. If it should be officially revealed at the Beijing show, which could be postponed to June, this newcomer is already showing through a new series of photos.
The opportunity to have a good overview of its lines, which seem rather successful and which should have no difficulty in attracting customers, both in China and in the other countries where it will be marketed in the coming years. On the other hand, it will be necessary to show a little patience before discovering the interior of the electric sedan, while no image has yet been unveiled for the moment.
European launch in 2023
In total, no less than three versions will be offered within the range for this BYD Seal. The least efficient version will then display a power of 204 horsepower from its single engine, while the variant capping the catalog will combine two electric motors, claiming 218 and 204 equipped. Between the two, an intermediate version of 313 horsepower will be offered, only in propulsion.
If until then, the marketing in Europe had not been confirmed, our colleagues from Automobile Propre point out that it would be quite possible that the electric sedan is finally sold on the Old Continent. If this is the case, it should then arrive in our country by next year, even if the Chinese brand has not yet confirmed anything on this subject.
