What is it all about?

The series is a classic sitcom centered around the Rose family. The parents, a wealthy video store mogul and a famous soap actress, lose all their fortune overnight. Actually as a joke, however, Papa Johnny once bought the small town of Schitt's Creek for his children David and Alexis, where they are now venturing a fresh start. Who is behind the series?

There is also a real family behind this family story: Eugene Levy (73), known as Jim's father from the "American Pie" films, came up with the idea for "Schitt's Creek" together with his son Daniel Levy (37). Both also take on the father-and-son roles as the main characters in the series. Eugene Levy's daughter Sarah Levy (34) can also be seen in the series and plays the recurring role of Twyla Sands. Eugene Levy's brother Fred Levy is also involved as executive producer.

How can you see "Schitt's Creek"?

"Schitts's Creek" is a Canadian production by the local public broadcaster CBC. It premiered in January 2015. Only a few weeks later, the comedy series also started in the USA, but "only" on the aforementioned, relatively unknown and small pay-TV channel Pop TV. Only later did Netflix jump on the bandwagon and at least so far secured the first five of the six seasons. However, only in the USA, Great Britain, Ireland, Japan, Australia and South Africa. How many more episodes will be broadcast?

The special thing about the series: It is already over. In April 2020, the last episode of the final, sixth season was broadcast in the USA. TV Now also has the final episodes. There will be no new round. In total, the makers produced 80 episodes, each only 22 minutes in length, in five years.
