Schroders Capital appoints new Head of Real Estate for France

(Boursier.com) — Schroders Capital’s Real Estate team today announced the appointment of Hideki Kurata as Head of Real Estate for France and Director of Residential Strategies. His role will be to lead the growth and development of Schroders Capital’s real estate business in France. Hideki Kurata, who will take up his new role on March 1, 2023, will also be part of Schroders Capital’s global property management team. This responsibility will consist of identifying and finding new strategic investment opportunities to contribute to the development of Schroders Capital’s Serviced Residential Real Estate platform.

In line with Schroders Capital’s strategy, he will specifically focus on operationally intensive residential strategies, encompassing the senior, student and co-living sectors, as well as healthcare, building on the strong position market share and Schroders Capital’s expertise in the hospitality industry. Hideki Kurata will report to Sophie van Oosterom, Global Head of Real Estate at Schroders Capital.
Hideki Kurata comes from Greystar, a global asset manager where he set up and developed the business in France since 2018. Previously, Hideki Kurata led the Alternatives and Special Situations team at AXA IM Real Assets, where he helped build expand the company’s exposure to healthcare, hotels, data centers and student accommodation across Europe.
Prior to that, Hideki Kurata spent 12 years at GE Capital, where he held various positions in M&A and Business Development, responsible for originating, executing and managing strategic transactions. Prior to GE Capital, he worked for the real estate investment bank of JP Morgan and in the project finance team of BNP Paribas.
Hideki Kurata holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Paris Nanterre, is a graduate of ESCP Europe and has an MBA from INSEAD.
