Two talents attempt personal adventure
DeepMind will lose two researchers. The polytechnician Laurent Sifre, present within the company for a decade, and who worked on large-scale projects such as AlphGo, announced his departure, along with Karl Tuyls. The two scientists have the ambition, according to Bloombergto create a new company in the AI sector.
The duo has already conducted a number of discussions with investors to financially support this project. The round of funding in the program could allow them to raise a particularly substantial sum, which could go up to 200 million euros.
Paris, the next capital of AI?
This company, which for the moment is called Holistic, would aim to develop a new model of artificial intelligence. And, once again, this firm would establish itself not in the United States, but in Paris.
Because it should be noted that Holistic would not be the first artificial intelligence company to set up shop in the European capital. Mistral AI thus attracted a lot of attention at the end of last year, after a fundraising, which could allow it to reach a valuation of 2 billion dollars.
Certain representatives of French capital have also embarked on the adventure. Xavier Niel, the boss of Iliad, presided last fall over the creation of an artificial intelligence laboratory within Station F (Paris), Kyutai, endowed with 300 million euros at its launch. .
