Scream 5: Neve Campbell is especially looking forward to it

Neve Campbell returns with her "Scream" co-stars for the fifth installment in the series. That's what the actress looks forward to most.

Both Neve Campbell (47) and David Arquette (49) and Courteney Cox (56) return for "Scream 5". And not only fans of the Slasher series can hardly wait for the new film. "I'm really looking forward to going back to work," said Campbell in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. The shooting is her first job since the beginning of the corona pandemic in March. Campbell couldn't wait to "slip back into Sidney's shoes". She is also particularly happy to "see Courteney and David". "These films mean so much to me, including my career. It's always great fun to make them!"

The first "Scream" film with Neve Campbell and her colleagues came out in 1996. Three sequels followed. For the fifth part, the three main actors have to get used to a new director: Horror legend Wes Craven died in the summer of 2015 at the age of 76 from complications from a brain tumor. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, 42, and Tyler Gillett, 38, will direct in his place. The fifth part is due to hit theaters in January 2022. Originally it was planned for 2021 for the 25th anniversary, but the shooting had to be postponed due to the corona pandemic.
