“Scream” star Neve Campbell told in an interview how a bear once attacked her on the set of a film.

Neve Campbell (48) has just returned to the cinemas with the fifth part of the horror series “Scream”. But Campbell almost fell victim to a bear while filming. Not on the set of one of the “Scream” films, however, but while filming one of her early works when the Canadian was 17 years old.

On the promotional tour for “Scream 5” said Campbell on the host’s “The Kelly Clarkson Show” about the long-ago incident. “I played this role where my character is ‘one with the animals’ and there was a scene where I was supposed to be chased by a bear,” says the actress. “They brought a bear to the set and first gave me a big bottle of coke to feed him.”

The bear wanted more than honey

Then she should smear honey on her hand and run away. “And when you get to that tree over there, turn around, stretch out your hand and feed the bear,” she was told.

So did Campbell, but the bear wasn’t after the honey in her hand. “He grabbed my leg and dragged me through the forest,” she says. Her mother, who was on the set, screamed in horror, the team was frozen. Only a bear tamer was able to free the actress by throwing stones at the animal.

Neve Campbell did not tell Kelly Clarkson (39) which film it was or whether she even finished filming.
