The officialization of the OnePlus 12 will take place in a few days. While waiting for the launch conference, set for December 5, 2023, OnePlus CEO Li JieLouis has provided some interesting information around this high-end model.
All-round teasing around the OnePlus 12
OnePlus is used to playing the intensive teasing card before making a new smartphone official, especially when it comes to high-end models. The OnePlus 12 is therefore no exception to the rule.
Through a slew of publications on the Chinese social network Weibo, Li JieLouis, CEO of OnePlus, reveals several information around the technical sheet, starting with the chip on board the OnePlus 12: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
As a reminder, Xiaomi is the only brand to have formalized models featuring the latest Qualcomm SoC: the Xiaomi 14. Other manufacturers have confirmed its use for future devices, such as Honor with the Magic 6 or even Realme with its next GT , the GT5 Pro. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is also expected on Samsung’s Galaxy S24s.
Li JieLouis also mentioned the screen of the OnePlus 12. We thus learned the use of a panel called 2K Oriental, offering a 2K definition with DisplayMate A+ certification, a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits and Bright Eyes technology.
The CEO of OnePlus also mentions the presence of Rain Touch technology, presented last August on the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro. Its objective is simple: to make it easier to use the OnePlus 12 when there is water on the screen.
Finally, we learn the use of the very good 50 Mpx Sony Lytia LYT-808 lens for the rear photo module, i.e. the same main sensor as on the OnePlus Open, but also the return of fast wireless charging. The power of the latter has not yet been specified, but it was 50 W on the OnePlus 10 Pro.
Note, a small rumor concerning the international launch of the OnePlus 12. Via a post Twitter/X published this November 28, leaker Max Jambor revealed that a presentation event would take place in India on January 23.
