Sea of Thieves: Players pay homage to Arena mode

With the arrival of Sea of Thieves Season 6, several things have changed in-game. In addition to the addition of Sea Forts, for example, Arena mode has finally closed. Rare made this decision, in particular, to allow the development teams to devote themselves to the Adventure mode, which is, by far, the most popular. There was, indeed, a big lack of players, making the Arena mode unplayable, with quite long waiting times. It was therefore logical to see the developers put an end to the experience, to the chagrin of the players who very often embarked on this PvP experience.

However, the Sea of Thieves community, very imaginative and involved, paid homage, in its own way, to this mode of play. For example, a group of pirates sang and drank in its memory, under a rather sad tune of music and an emote showing the character wiping away tears.

In another genre, a player paid homage to Arena mode with a very beautiful cinematic, called “the last battle” in which some took great pleasure, while meeting new players, who have since become fellow travelers.

With the end of this competitive mode, it is possible that Rare is working on another way to bring PvP-only encounters to Sea of Thieves., although nothing has yet been announced. In 2022, developers will focus primarily on storytelling, according to the roadmap.
