At the beginning of August, the players of Sea of Thieves can discover a new season, the seventh of the pirate game, allowing to add a plethora of novelties, but also several improvements. So that you are not lost, we offer you a small summary of all the relevant Sea of Thieves update 2.6.0 additions below.

Become captain
To start, and as it had been expected for a long time, players will be able to buy their own boat, while personalizing it. You can even name it, like a real pirate. A new progression path is also added for captains, with the aim of unlocking new rewards. Moreover, to go in this direction, the carpenters present on the outposts will offer you new services, such as the repair of your ship, but also provide you with new trips.
Speaking of outposts, these sacred places of Sea of Thieves also welcome a new group of characters, the barons. The latter act more or less as intermediaries between the captains and the companies, to sell the loot more quickly. Also note that all ship captains will have a logbook, which other players can retrieve, like an emissary flag.
As we mentioned above, all captains will be able to customize their ship, especially with different accessories, to make the cabin unique. Of course, you can save your ship, in order not to waste time re-modifying your ship when launching each game.
The improvements
Many improvements are made, to make the experience more advanced. Here is a non-exhaustive list of these changes:
- Usable stools can be found on the various islands.
- Players can now zoom in on the map, a note or a quest, to better see a specific point.
- Enemy players will no longer be able to revive a teammate on another ship.
- Solo players will stay in the Ferry for a shorter time after dying.
Other novelties
In terms of cosmetics, the Pirate Emporium shop gets a makeover, with new skins. Of course, a Plunder Pass is added, in order to collect many rewards. Some can only be obtained through the premium path, of course. 100 levels are available, to be unlocked during the season. Of course, many problem fixes and optimizations of all kinds are deployed with this update, which you can find in the patch notes, in English.
