A few days before his birthday, Sea of Thieves has decided to celebrate its 5th anniversary as it should be. After proposing the event Marauder Medleyplayers will notably be able to revamp their ship thanks to numerous cosmetic elements sold by the Pirate Emporium or unearthable on the seas.
On March 20, players will also be able to discover a documentary entitled Sea of Thieves: Voyages of a Lifetime. The latter traces the entire course of the game, from its beginnings to today. What to learn a little more behind the scenes of its creation.
And among the festivities is also Season 9 of Sea of Thieves. It’s available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series, as well as for all Xbox Game Pass members.
A mess of cosmetics
In this new season, fortune smiles on the daring. And we can say that it will take some strategy to get your hands on the precious Chests of Fortune that have appeared on the seas. They will only be yours if you manage to conquer a Fortress of Fortune. Exchanging found chests will allow you to obtain various cosmetic items from the Destiny of Fortune set.
New journeys to discover ever harder-to-find treasures are also appearing. Among these famous treasures, you may discover the Skull of Fate, an artifact used in rituals to trigger the Fortresses of the Damned event.
The Captains’ notebooks are improved and now list all the details of their exploits to date, from the islands visited to the clashes against the most terrifying sea creatures. Of course, the improvements of this season 9 are not reserved for Captains, and many new features are to be discovered during your sea travels.
Note that for its fifth anniversary, Sea of Thieves is coming out in a new Deluxe Edition. This of course includes all the content added over the years since launch. But also cosmetic elements, emotes and Ancient Coins to spend in the Pirate Emporium. What a good way to start your adventure if you have never sailed the seas before.
