A missing local hiker was found dead in Dorfgastein today, Friday. The 75-year-old had not returned home from a hike he had set out on the previous day.
The Gasteiner left home yesterday, Thursday, February 29th, at lunchtime. In the morning hours of March 1st, his wife called the police in Bad Hofgastein because her husband had not come home from the hike. The man was found by emergency services a short time later next to a freight road. The doctor could only confirm that the man was dead. The public prosecutor ordered an autopsy. In addition to the mountain rescue team, the Dorfgastein fire department was also involved in the search.
