With the warm temperatures, water sports enthusiasts and sailors are increasingly drawn to Lake Neusiedl. This also means more work on the water for the fire brigade.
Most recently, the boats had to move out twice because of missing surfers. While the first use turned out to be a false alarm, the second time they actually had to look for a lost kite surfer.
The Neusiedl am See and Weiden am See fire brigades were alerted on Friday evening. The kite surfer was last seen around two kilometers away from the Neusiedl bathing area.
In the end, the missing water sports enthusiast was found unharmed.
