In the Alpine Ski World Cup, two of the ten ball decisions are open before the season finale in Soldeu.

Lara Gut-Behrami has chances of winning the discipline in Super-G, Daniel Yule and theoretically Ramon Zenhäusler are in the race in men’s slalom. The program starts with the downhill runs on Wednesday. For Marco Odermatt and Mikaela Shiffrin, who both have the overall World Cup for sure, the final in Andorra is a show run. As the second man, Odermatt could crack the magical 2000 point mark and set a record.

Still open:

  • Super-G women: quintet still in the running: Elena Curtoni (ITA/332 points) has the best starting position, followed by Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI/313), Cornelia Hütter (AUT/307), Ragnhild Mowinckel (NOR/306) and Federica Brignone (ITA/288). In the previous 7 races of the season there were 7 different winners. For Austria it is the last chance not to end the season without a ball.
  • Slalom men: Braathen in pole position: The Norwegian Lucas Braathen brings 466 points to Andorra and thus has the best starting position in the slalom. Behind them are Henrik Kristoffersen (434) and Daniel Yule (401) lurking for their chance. In theory, Ramon Zenhousen (367) is still in the running.
  • Odermatt and the 2000 point mark: With 11 races won so far and a lead of almost 600 points over his closest rival, Aleksander Kilde, Marco Odermatt has only one goal in mind: the man from Nidwalden has 1826 points and is scratching Hermann Maier’s record. The Austrian scored exactly 2000 points in winter 1999/2000.
