(CercleFinance.com) – Seb announced on Wednesday that he was going to open a new production line at his industrial site in Saint-Lô, specializing in the manufacture of electronic cards.
The specialist in small domestic equipment indicates that the factory will now manufacture complex electronic cards intended for the professional coffee machines of its premium brand WMF.
The project represents an investment of 1.2 million euros, 25% financed by the Normandy region.
The Saint-Lô site currently produces nearly five million electronic cards per year, which corresponds to 10%-15% of the household appliance group’s needs.
Seb, which is seeking to secure its supply chain, plans to repatriate part of European and Chinese production between the end of 2023 and 2024, which should increase production to the tune of seven million cards per year.
Consisting of a design office and a factory, the Saint-Lô site currently employs nearly 100 people.
