Sebastian Preuss: His April Outing joke is not well received

With this unsuccessful April Fool's joke, "The Bachelor" Sebastian Preuss (30) apparently didn't make very many friends. On Wednesday, he posted two pictures with a friend on Instagram who had become his "beloved sweetheart". It was time for the "truth". At the same time he apologized to all "girls". He further wrote: "My dear people, please do not be angry with me, but I stand by my feelings and am extremely grateful that I finally got it over my heart." Preuss also set hashtags like #love and #gay.

A few hours later, Preuss confirmed what many had suspected in an Instagram story. "Hey my dear people, (…) as you can imagine, my coming out with dear Chris was an April Fool's joke." He cannot understand "all of today's aggressive and passive comments". Preuss has many homosexual people in his circle of acquaintances and friends who are "dear to his heart". Among other things, he wanted to express that everyone could love who he wanted. "I want to encourage everyone to go through their lives the way they want to. Don't let yourself get down, do your thing."

Incomprehension among users

However, many users had not noticed the original post. Entertainer Riccardo Simonetti (27) wrote in a comment, for example: "For you it is certainly not a big deal, but any teenager who is still struggling to show his true self to the world cannot simply take it back tomorrow." Anyone who manages to get a coming out has mostly come a long way with personal conflicts and that deserves respect and shouldn't be used to get a few laughs. A little more empathy, please . "

"Somehow I don't find it funny to make a fool of April with something like that," agreed another user. Another user meanwhile said: "I think this April Fool's Day is not very funny. Many people have struggled so that they can be with the person they love. Many still don't dare to come out today."
