Lhas appointment of Norman Sébastien Lecornu, 36, to the Ministry of the Armed Forces brings a still young but experienced man to the Hôtel de Brienne: he has arrived from the Ministry of Overseas Territories, after passing through the State Secretariat to the Minister of the Ecological Transition (2017) and the Ministry in charge of Local Authorities (2018). Passing for having an assertive character, he is part of Emmanuel Macron’s war prizes with the Republicans, from which he was excluded after joining the government. He was also close to Alexandre Benalla and has with the latter the particularity of being a gendarmerie officer in the operational reserve. The Minister will therefore not need accelerated training to learn to distinguish the ranks of his interlocutors…
