Second league – Ried eight points behind GAK after 2-0 in Horn

SV Ried has moved up to eight points from league leaders GAK in the 2nd football league, at least until Sunday. At the start of the 24th round on Friday evening, the Innviertel team won 2-0 at SV Horn and thus secured their third win in a row. Three points behind, DSV Leoben is third after a 1-2 home defeat against FC Liefering, where interim coach Daniel Beichler was pleased with a successful debut.

In the Waldviertel, two goals made the difference. Philipp Pomer (22nd) shot from the edge of the penalty area and was successful with a volley. It was the second goal of the season for the 26-year-old midfielder. In the final phase, Fabian Rossdorfer (86th) made everything clear, scoring just ten minutes after coming on as a substitute. It was the second defeat in a row for Horner. Things are also not going well for Leoben, which has only won one of the last five games. But more could have been seen against Liefering. Kevin Friesenbichler failed on the way to the opening goal with a poorly shot foul penalty against “Young Bulls” goalie Jonas Krumrey (57th). A short time later, Justin Omoregie (63′), a “joker” who had just been substituted, scored on the other side. Adam Daghim (86th) added another substitute before the home team made cosmetic gains with Thomas Hirschhofer (88th). For seventh-place Liefering it was victory number four in a row. FC Admira, one point behind Leoben and fifth in the table, was also successful. The Südstädter team, unbeaten for six rounds, retained the upper hand against Kapfenberger SV 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Patrick Schmidt (90th). The FAC returned to winning ways after three games with a total of just one point. The Floridsdorfers moved up to fourth place with a 2-0 away win at Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz. Nermin Haljeta (34th) and own-goal scorer Patrick Obermuller (88th) scored. Schwarz-Weiß (11th) suffered the next setback with their fourth defeat in the last five games. Now a new coach, the returnee Regi van Acker, who was introduced on Thursday, will take over for the last six rounds. Sixth-placed Vienna won 2-0 against SV Lafnitz thanks to goals from Noah Bischof (10th), who benefited from a major goalie mistake, and Christoph Monschein (33rd). The second team from Sturm Graz won 4: 1 at the defeated bottom team SKU Amstetten an important success in the relegation battle. The penultimate team, for whom Leon Grgic scored twice, initially moved within two points of third-penultimate Dornbirn. Leader GAK will not be in action until the end of the round at home against SKN St. Pölten on Sunday.
