In the second semi-final for the ESC 2021, ten artists qualified for the final on May 22nd. These countries are included.

17 countries competed in the second semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) on Thursday evening (May 20th, from 9 p.m. on ONE). The ten best-placed countries in the second semifinals qualified for the final on Saturday, May 22nd, in which a total of 26 countries will start. Who made it to the final and can perform again in the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam?

The artists from San Marino, Estonia, Czech Republic, Greece, Austria, Poland, Moldova, Iceland, Serbia, Georgia, Albania, Portugal, Bulgaria, Finland, Latvia, Switzerland and Denmark all played their ESC songs. Only Daði og Gagnamagnið from Iceland had to resort to a rehearsal, their performance for “10 Years” was recorded as a video. Since a member tested positive for Corona on Wednesday, the band will not appear at this year’s ESC live shows.

The national ESC juries as well as the spectators of the countries that had entered the semifinals had it in their hands with their voting in the end. Albania (Anxhela Peristeri with “Karma”), Serbia (Hurricane with “Loco Loco”), Bulgaria (Victoria with “Growing Up Is Getting Old”), Moldova (Natalia Gordienko with “Sugar”), Portugal (The Black Mamba with “Love Is On My Side”), Iceland (Daði og Gagnamagnið with “10 Years”), San Marino (Senhit with “Adrenalina”), Switzerland (Gjon’s Tears with “Tout l’univers”), Greece (Stefania with “Last Dance”) and Finland (Blind Channel with “Dark Side”).

In the first semi-final (May 18), Norway (Tix – “Fallen Angel”), Israel (Eden Alene – “Set Me Free”), Russia (Manizha – “Russian Woman”), Azerbaijan (Efendi – “Mata Hari”) prevailed “), Malta (Destiny -” Je Me Casse “), Lithuania (The Roop -” Discoteque “), Cyprus (Elena Tsagrinou -” El Diablo “), Sweden (Tusse -” Voices “), Belgium (Hooverphonic -” The Wrong Place “) and Ukraine (Go_A -” SHUM “). The so-called “Big Five” (Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Great Britain) as well as the host country Netherlands were set directly for the final. For Germany, Jendrik Sigwart (26) takes part in the competition with “I Don’t Feel Hate”.

The final of the 65th Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will take place on Saturday evening (from 8.15 p.m. on the first). Audiences are also allowed in all ESC shows. Corona-related strict security measures apply.
