Fans had to wait three years, now there is finally new material from the “Game of Thrones” universe. With “House of the Dragon” the prequel from the fantasy world of George RR Martin starts in mid-August. Where can you watch “House of the Dragon” in the stream and what about the broadcast dates?
Series fans have to be patient with “House of the Dragon”. The episodes will not be put online all at once, but appear weekly. In Germany, Sky holds the broadcasting rights for the series. You can tune in to House of the Dragon with a pay TV subscription or via the WOW streaming service. The first episode has been available since the night of Sunday, August 21st. on Monday, August 22nd ready for retrieval.
Where to see House of the Dragon in Germany? WOW, Amazon Prime, Netflix?
At the start of House of the Dragon, WOW is currently available as a 6-month subscription for EUR 7.99 per month. After that, access costs EUR 9.99 and can be canceled on a monthly basis. For House of the Dragon you need the “Series” package.

The Game of Thrones offshoot is available in Germany exclusively at Sky. So it is not possible, the series at Amazon to buy in the stream. Netflix and other streaming providers don’t have “House of the Dragon” in their offer either.
You can download the latest episode directly to the release in the English original version or in the German translation look at.
- Since 4:15 a.m. you can watch the 1st episode on WOW in the stream. WOW is Sky’s streaming service, formerly known as Sky Ticket.
- At the same time, the first episode is available on Sky Q.
- You can tune in to Sky Atlantic and Sky Showcase at 3:00 a.m. and 8:15 p.m.
How expensive is House of the Dragon?
If you want to see the series right from the start, you will have to pay the following costs:
- WOW: If you watch WOW, you need the paid series subscription. The price for this is EUR 7.99 for the first 6 months and EUR 9.99 thereafter.
- With Sky Q, you watch via the receiver on the TV. There are different options here. The series package costs 15 euros for the first 12 months and 20 euros thereafter.
House of the Dragon: When is the next episode coming?
House of the Dragon will consist of 10 episodes. These are the release dates of the other episodes:

Sky Q shows the series in 4K Ultra HD and with Dolby Atmos sound. It can also be assumed that the upcoming episodes will be put online around 4 a.m. from Sunday to Monday.
See House of the Dragon without Sky: is that possible?
It is not known if and when House of the Dragon will be shown on other streaming services such as Amazon (Prime), Netflix, Apple TV+ & Co. The first episode is rumored to be out Tuesday 23rd August on Amazon Prime and iTunes to be provided. Then you could do the series even without a Sky subscription turn on. However, there is no official announcement that House of the Dragon will be available on Amazon Prime or iTunes. Previous Game of Thrones seasons had a season pass that allowed you to stream episodes without a Sky subscription. In the promotional material and in the announcement for the new series, however, there was an explicit indication that the series could be seen “exclusively only on Sky”. It is almost impossible that House of the Dragon will be shown on Netflix in the foreseeable future. There have been no HBO productions on the streaming service in the past, so House of the Dragon should look the same.
In the US, House of the Dragon will air on HBO Max. With a VPN and a little work, you can also book the service in Germany.
If you can already find the first episode of House of the Dragon on streaming platforms other than WOW, this is most likely it for an illegal offer. If you absolutely want to see the series, you should take out a legal subscription to WOW, as watching illegally viewed content is a copyright infringement that can result in an expensive warning.
It is also not yet certain when the Game of Thrones spin-off on DVD and Blu-ray will appear.
