Sega Admittedly has a lot of teams in it to develop games, but most of them are regrouped in one place, the city of Tokyo. The publisher is therefore announcing great news today by declaring open new premises in Sapporo, still in Japan, with a new studio called simply Sega Sapporo Studio.
An important new studio for Sega
This new studio will have different caps, but will above all aim to develop new games for the publisher. He will also take care of the design of various titles, bug fixing phases, and the import and export of games and consoles. In short, a very thick schedule which shows how important this studio will be for the future of the brand. Currently, his first task will be to create new characters and environments for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis.
And this is no coincidence, since it is Takaya Segawa who took the head of the studio. Present at Sega since 1992, he was also the chief producer of Phantasy Star Online 2. He then declares that the studio will aim to create high quality games that can meet current standards.
The studio is still in the recruiting phase for the moment.
