Sega has announced the Mega Drive Mini 2, the release date, price and the first games are already set. There is a catch, however.

- The Sega Genesis Mini 2 will be released in the United States on October 27, 2022.
- The price is around 100 euros.
After the Mega Drive Mini, Sega has now announced the Genesis Mini 2, which is said to be an improved version of the retro console, including a six-button controller.
Amazon will sell the mini console exclusively for the equivalent of around 100 euros, but the release on October 27th is only intended for the US market. It remains unclear whether the console will also appear in this country.

The device contains more than 50 pre-installed games, including titles from the Sega CD, which is known in Germany under the name “Mega CD”. Not all titles are confirmed yet, but you can see many of them in the gallery above and the covers from back then should inspire retro fans.
Mini consoles are in demand
New editions in the form of mini consoles are always popular and often out of print. The trend started with Nintendo’s NES Mini and SNES Mini, some of which are now available for several hundred euros. Other releases include the PlayStation Classic or the Neo Geo Mini.
