Sega plans to release many remakes and remasters this year

Like many publishers last week, Sega also published its latest financial report, which provides an update on the last quarter as well as the entire 2021/2022 fiscal year. And the latter seems to have been profitable for Sega, at least on the sale of console and PC games, with higher results than the previous year, and a very positive view of the year 2022/2023 thanks to the release of many games.

13 games planned for this fiscal year

In its report, Sega celebrates its good results and reiterates its desire to bet more and more on games in the future (like the famous Super Game plan), but also takes stock of what awaits us for this fiscal year, which runs from April 2022 to the end of March 2023.

During this period, Sega expects to release no less than 13 games, some of which are already known. We think of Two Point Campus, Soul Hackers 2, Sonic Originsand of course Sonic Frontiers. What is interesting here is that the publisher emphasizes that many of these games will be remakes, remasters or spin-offs.

In 2021/2022, Sega sold 4 million games falling into this category, and for this year, the publisher hopes to sell 5 million.. We imagine that Sonic Origins should contribute greatly to reaching this figure, but it is still unclear what other games could help achieve this result.
