Seine-et-Marne: a war arsenal discovered in a fifty-something man who robbed two police officers

A family dispute at the origin of the discovery of weapons and rockets. Placed in police custody on Thursday February 17 for threatening two police officers while drunk with a Colt 45 in Montévrain (Seine-et-Marne), a fifty-year-old had built up a veritable arsenal of war at his home.

The two police officers had been called for a family dispute. After pulling out their service weapon, they managed to defuse the situation. Once the suspect’s pistol was recovered, the two experienced police officers were able to see that the latter was loaded, a single gesture would have been enough for a tragedy.

Seven weapons and two rockets

Unknown to the police but positive for the breathalyzer, the fifty-year-old was placed in police custody at the Chessy-Lagny police station, according to Le Parisien. During the search of his home, the police discovered a large arsenal of war, with four long weapons, three handguns and two rockets recovered.

According to the Meaux prosecutor’s office, the suspect was prosecuted for intentional violence with a weapon against the police and for possession of weapons without authorization. His police custody was extended Friday evening to determine the origin and conformity of the weapons, as well as the reasons pushing him to hold such an arsenal.
