According to a police source, the fire broke out around 2:00 a.m. on the ground floor of this building, near the town hall of this town of 39,000 inhabitants, located around fifteen kilometers north of Paris. By mid-morning, the fire was out.
An injured firefighter
A major device, mobilizing 24 vehicles and 88 firefighters, had been deployed, the prefecture said in a press release. “A firefighter was slightly burned during the intervention,” according to the same source.
The other residents of the building, evacuated, were accommodated in a gymnasium. An investigation to determine the causes of the fire was opened by the Bobigny public prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the department’s judicial police service.
