Reselling your old Disney VHS tapes at auction could bring you a nice sum of money.
Are you about to throw away without looking inside the dusty boxes from your childhood that are sleeping in the attic? Take a look inside anyway. Indeed, if you find mythical toys from the 90s like Polly Pockets, Furby, or old VHS tapes, you may have a small fortune in your hands.
Even though VHS tapes are completely gone, some – which you probably still keep in the back of your cupboards – could well be worth a small fortune! This is the case of Disney cassettes, which you collected when you were a child and which you watched over and over: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Toy Story etc. But know that today, some editions can be worth thousands of dollars. The copies of the exclusive Disney collection, marked with a small black diamond “The Classics” on the edge of the box, have a very high value. According to the English tabloid The Sun, these cassettes can indeed be sold between 7,000 and 15,000 euros. The Black Diamond edition is a limited edition which was marketed for less than 10 years, between the years 1984 and 1993. These VHS are recognizable by their black diamond present on the edge of the jacket as well as on the cassette.
Disney VHS worth gold
On eBay, the happy owners of these small black diamond cassettes are quick to put them up for sale at exorbitant prices. This is the case, for example, of an ad shared recently on the famous auction website. The person in question has sniffed out the right vein by putting 10 Disney tapes up for sale for £13,950, or just over 15,600 euros. These are necessarily the greatest classics imagined and produced by Walt Disney: Cinderella, Bambi, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lady and the Tramp or 101 Dalmatians. So rather than leaving your old Disney cassettes to rot in the cellar, we advise you to take a look at them because some could perhaps hold the famous “Black Diamond” which is clearly worth gold!
