The men’s final at the Laax Open will take place with two Swiss men: Both Jan Scherrer and Pat Burgener survived the cut of the 12th best. Scherrer, who competed in Heat 1, was awarded for his better jump after a fall 83.00 points. He finished 3rd in his run. For Burgener there were 77.00 points for his better run, which in Heat 2 was equivalent to 4th place.

Shaun White is also in the final. The Olympic champion from the USA had planned his start in Graubünden at short notice with a view to the Winter Games in Beijing. Outstanding semi-final runs were shown by Scotty James (AUS) and Amuyu Hirano (JPN), who received 95.60 and 95.40 points, respectively.

Kim towers over everyone – Wicki misses top 8

Olympic champion Chloé Kim was once again the best in the semi-finals of the Laax Open: The American achieved a super run in the halfpipe with 91.20 in the first run. In the second round she topped it. She received 93.90 points for her performance – the highest value in the women’s competition. So it comes as no surprise that Kim is also the top favorite for the final on Saturday.

None of the Swiss women made it into the final of the top eight. Berenice Wicki narrowly failed as 10th, missing 8.40 points with 65.60 points. Isabelle Lötscher was 18th after a fall in the 2nd run (53.20 points). Elena Schütz had no chance after two weak runs (26th with 18.20 points).
