With the Momentum Sport, Sennheiser offers wireless earphones full of technology. They include a heart rate sensor as well as a temperature sensor.
Sennheiser improves its offering for athletes with the Momentum Sport. If wireless headphones (or true wireless) are widely adopted by the general public for listening to music or podcasts on the move, manufacturers also offer models adapted to the practice of sport. More resistant to water, shock or perspiration, these wireless headphones also have a stronger fit in the ear as well as dedicated features.
This is the case of the Sennheiser Momentum Sport, the latest sports headphones from the famous audio manufacturer which are now being launched on the French market.
Integrated sensors to measure temperature and heartbeat during exercise
The main new feature of these Sennheiser Momentum Sport is the integration of different sensors allowing the analysis of several health data during exercise. The headphones are therefore equipped with a photoplethysmography (PPG) heart rate sensor and a body temperature sensor.
These sensors, placed in the ear, would, according to Sennheiser, offer more precise results than those offered by a connected watch placed on the wrist, the inner ear being a more stable environment and protected from light. The temperature sensor would therefore offer an accuracy of plus or minus 0.3 degrees.
Health data can be synchronized with the Polar Flow application, but also with most health platforms and associated connected watches, such as the Apple Watch and the Health application, or the Garmin Watch. The Peloton or Stravia sports applications can also access this information.
A design designed for athletes that combines audio quality and resistance to the elements
For its Momentum Sport, Sennheiser explains that it has also completely reviewed the acoustic system of its product. In addition to a 10 mm transducer, the brand has developed a “ acoustic relief channel incorporating air ventilation » to avoid the occlusion effect once the headphones are worn. They also offer an active and adaptive noise reduction mode, with the presence of a Transparency mode and another Anti-wind mode.
In terms of formats and codecs, the Sennheiser Momentum Sport are aptX Adaptive, AAC and SBC compatible, and have a Bluetooth 5.2 connection. The Sennheiser Smart Control application, available on iOS and Android, allows you to personalize the experience, while the touch controls placed on the headphones allow you to control your music, even with gloves.
The new headphones finally feature water and sweat resistance, with IP55 certification, a shockproof chassis and obstruction-resistant ear tips. The charging case, compatible with wireless charging systems and offering 24 hours of battery life in total, is also IP54 certified. The autonomy of the headphones is 6 hours on a charge.
The Sennheiser Momentum are therefore complete and premium headphones, and the price reflects this, with a price of 329.99 euros. They are now available in three colors: Polar Black, Burned Olive and Metallic Graphite.
