sensational sales despite all the bugs

Dying Light 2: Stay Human does the accounts and is doing much better than its elder when it was released. As for the first episode, its updated sales are also dizzying.

The launch of Dying Light 2: Stay Human didn’t go smoothly. It is the least we can say. The game was released in a messed up state on all platforms and didn’t quite deliver on all of its promises. And yet, it’s a huge box!

Dying Light 2 is selling like hot cakes

Techland’s survival action is experiencing a dazzling commercial breakthrough. At February 28Dying Light 2 has sold out more than 5 months of copies in just three weeks. A really impressive score when you consider that it took seven months for the previous game to reach this number. During its marketing weekend, this sequel claimed more than 3 million copies sold to consumers.

The success of the Dying Light franchise is a prime example of the unforgettable experiences we create for our players.

says Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka.

The developers intend to sustain this success by following the software over the long term, with at least 5 years of additional content (free and paid). Dying Light 2 will receive a huge update shortly, and the studio is working on a new game plus or even a first scripted DLC.

Iron health for the first episode

Dying Light 2 outperforms but what about the previous game? Sales remain very high. Since its release in 2015, the first opus has sold more than 20 million copies. All the same. This part will have been followed for a lot of time by Techland with more or less interesting DLCs, but above all the very good extension of The Following, which could easily add ten hours of play to the basic campaign. For the more curious, Dying Light 1 is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S thanks to a free patch.
