Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s relationship may be over, but both are said to be focusing on the positive.
Jennifer Lopez (55) and Ben Affleck (52) have not found great happiness in their marriage. Nevertheless, both are said to be in a generally positive mood after the singer and actress filed for divorce around two weeks ago, according to anonymous sources revealed to the US magazine “People”.
“He is where he wants to be – close to his children and in a neighborhood he loves,” an insider reports. Affleck enjoys working and is “very focused on the positive.” He is doing well and is slowly moving into his new home.
And Lopez also seems to want to focus on the good sides. She “feels [mit ihrem Leben] “Still very happy,” another source reveals – even if she feels “some bitterness” because of the separation. The 55-year-old “tried so hard” to make everything work out, “but Ben didn’t care,” claims the insider. She surrounds herself with family, friends and her children and “always manages to take a positive perspective”: “The divorce is difficult for her, but she always finds a way to move on.”
First tensions on the honeymoon?
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were already a couple in the early 2000s, but they had broken off their original engagement at that time. Many years and two marriages later, they got together again and married in the summer of 2022. Affleck previously married fellow actress Jennifer Garner (52) in 2005, with whom he has three children Violet (18), Fin (15) and Samuel (12). Lopez, on the other hand, married her then new partner Marc Anthony (55) in 2004 and became the mother of twins Max and Emme (16).
However, as US media recently reported unanimouslyLopez filed for divorce in August and set the date of separation as April 26, 2024. There had been much speculation in recent months about relationship problems between the two. Apparently, the first problems arose during their honeymoon on Lake Como in Italy. An insider told Page Sixthat Affleck was reportedly unhappy about the amount of paparazzi following them there. When the two weren’t being watched by cameras, “they barely spoke to each other during what should have been the happiest time of their lives,” the anonymous source claimed.
