Expected for February 29, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth continues to raise expectations with its new trailer. Today, Square Enix focuses on the antagonist of its story, the one who will endanger Cloud’s quest. But this FF7 Rebirth trailer doesn’t just evoke the dispute between Sephiroth and the band of heroes. We can discover new landscapes and adversaries, as well as the motivations of this big bad guy.
The story picks up directly after the events of FF7 Remake. Cloud and his gang must therefore take up arms to prevent Sephiroth from taking over the planet. But their adventure will lead them to travel between Junon and Costa Del Sol. They will meet colorful characters there during their investigation, and will be able to go and rest at the Gold Saucer. In short, a very long epic awaits these companions in misfortune.
The harder the fall will be
Second game in the trilogy, FF7 Rebirth should focus on Sephiroth’s evolution in relation to the heroes, and the decisions that will lead to his final fall. But there was no question of dwelling too long on that with this trailer, and Square Enix prefers to present to us what awaits us. We thus witness in bulk the fight against Terror of the Abyss, the Nibelheim incident or even the meeting with Midgarsormr. Furtive passages but which reveal a great wealth of content.
We can particularly see this with the introduction of Cait Sith, a robotic cat accompanied by a gigantic mog. They will join the adventure to support Cloud and his friends, both in and out of combat. They can take advantage of synchronized attacks with other party members, for devastating results. After fleeing the city of Midgar, we can’t wait to discover what the world of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has to offer us in this new version.
