Samsung will very soon deploy a major update on its most recent Galaxy smartphones, as it fixes no less than 62 different vulnerabilities. Here are all the changes it makes.
After an August update which finally took several weeks to arrive on our devices, Samsung is back with a new security patch, this time for September 2023. As usual, the latter fixes several vulnerabilities, and This time there are 62 of them.
This is planned not only for the latest generation Galaxy S23, but also for all of the company’s recent smartphones which still benefit from Samsung’s software monitoring. This therefore even concerns fairly old models, such as the Galaxy S20 or the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Security patch fixes some critical vulnerabilities
Of the 62 flaws fixed by the September update, four fixes marked “critical” and 19 fixes marked “high” were provided by Google. For its part, Samsung has fixed 35 security vulnerabilities in its devices.
Among them, some were discovered in the Samsung Keyboard app, security settings, Dual Messenger, Samsung Knox AI, Phone and Messages app storage, Settings Suggestions, One UI Folder Lock, Weather app, Wi-Fi Auto Hotspot, incoming SMS manager and lock screen settings.
Samsung is still the leader in software tracking on the Android smartphone market, but Google itself could soon offer even more updates on its next high-end devices, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
For now, the update does not appear to be available immediately on Samsung smartphones in Europe, but it should be available very soon over the next few weeks. As this fixes no less than 4 so-called “critical” vulnerabilities, oWe advise you to install it as soon as possible once it is deployed. You should normally receive a notification on your smartphone alerting you of its arrival, but we always advise you, just in case, to regularly monitor the update menu on your smartphone.
