Sequestered for 11 years in a cellar with two other young girls, Michelle Knight is talking about her again

More than a decade after escaping from the horror, Michelle Knight, sequestered for many years, emerged from the silence in this month of May 2023. This American has decided to organize a special event to celebrate her release.

She will keep the consequences until the end of her life. On May 6, 2013, an American named Michelle Knight made headlines all over America, but not for a happy reason. The latter had just freed herself from the house of a man, Ariel Castro, who had held her captive with two other young women (Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus) for 11 long years. The executioner made a mistake, only one in all this time: that day, he left his house forgetting to lock the front door.

One of his three victims, Amanda Berry, had the courage to flee. And to run as quickly as possible to the nearest police station to alert the emergency services. Police officers who took the facts very seriously by going directly to Ariel Castro’s house. Once there, they were confronted with the horror experienced by these three young Americans. Business outings for ten years, they have each taken different paths, trying to rebuild themselves as best they can.

Michelle Knight was kidnapped and raped for eleven years

As the ten year anniversary of his release draws near, Michelle Knight decided to organize a very special event to mark the occasion. In an interview with our colleagues from People, the latter said that she would give a charity dinner to celebrate what was the first day of the rest of her life. The goal will be to raise funds for the animal cause. “Since I was little, and mainly because of the trauma caused during my childhood and what i experienced in this house of horrorI wanted to take care of the animals”she explained to our American colleagues.

In addition to destroying the lives of these three young women, Ariel Castro used to prey on animals. “I have seen countless adorable animals being abused by Ariel Castro. They were starved, beaten, left for dead. So I want to help these precious animals. I have found that by helping animals , they help me in return”, she added. An initiative that will receive a lot of support, as the story of Michelle Knight has touched all of America.
