Serb (21) in court – 4.5 years in prison after beating a benefactor

“I couldn’t believe he was coming back”
“I was quite upset, maybe angry. I couldn’t believe he was coming back,” Max Luger, the well-known benefactor, recalled during his interrogation. When he recognized the man, he wanted to go outside to call the police. But the Serb built himself up in front of the theologian and blocked his way out. “I then tried to punch him on the upper jaw so that he went down and I could get out. But I didn’t hit the right target,” Luger described the event calmly and factually. Then the following happened: “He hit my face several times with his fist. My nose was bleeding profusely and I yelled for help. He saw that I put the money in my jacket so he wouldn’t reach into the drawer again.” The perpetrator grabbed the wallet with the donations and fled. On December 21, he was found after a public manhunt.
