Serena and Venus Williams will compete in doubles at the US Open.

The US Open organizers announced on Twitter on Saturday that Serena and Venus Williams will compete in the tournament together.

Serena Williams (40) and Venus Williams (42) will compete together at the US Open. The sisters received a wildcard. This was announced by the US Open Tennis Association via Twitter.

Tennis sisters accept thanks to wild card

“Serena and Venus in the same place. The two-time US Open women’s doubles champions have accepted the wildcard,” it says in the post. Below are images of the talented tennis sisters announcing the upcoming event.

Serena Williams reposted in hers Instagram story a contribution from the US sports television network “ESPN”. He also canceled the tournament with a Photo of the two tennis aces and wrote, “Reunited and it feels so good. This will be the sisters’ first time playing together at a major since 2018.”

First doubles together in years

The sisters’ last major came in 2018 at the French Open. The upcoming US Open will be the first event since 2014 that the sisters will court together in doubles. In 1999 and 2009, the tennis legends won the US Open tournament in doubles.

In early August, Serena Williams announced her retirement

The news comes as a surprise, because Serena Williams only announced in one at the beginning of August Interview in the September issue of “Vogue” emotionally at the imminent end of her tennis career.
